Come Along.

Summer at Slade Gardens

Hello,

I hope you all have recovered from an amazing Summer. During the holidays the playground and OOCC saw at least 100 children visiting every day.

We were kept entertained with a variety of trips and workshops from visits to the Battersea Arts centre, Clip and Climb, Ice Skating, Bowling, South Bank, South End, Arts & Crafts with Hannah Theodorou, Football with Darren FC.

Some said we were better than the Summer Holiday Camps that charge,  as we are free that makes us proud of our contribution to life in Lambeth.

This year we were able to produce our own Honey. With the help of Barnaby the Bee Man from Bee Urban.

We have our local honey for a local cause we are charging £5 per jar.As a consequence of a grant achieved by the Friends of Slade Gardens, Slade Community Play managed to place three beehives in the allotment area of the Adventure Playground.

With the continued help and support of Barnaby from Urban Bees in Kennington we have managed to harvest enough honey between us to fill 300 140 gram jars.

If you want to buy any of this delicious and rare local honey please let us know or call in at the adventure playground.

Telephone 0207 737 3829 or email sladeadventure@btinternet.com

Can we say a big thank you to Virginia Powell who designed the delightful label.

The Summer Holiday is approaching and we hope to see you all. Come along to our free Holiday Club. We will be open from Monday 23rd July- Friday 31st of August, 10am-6pm.

We will be cooking, playing sports, gardening and don’t forget the outdoor fun on the structures.

Also Hannah is back with her up-cycling workshops, alongside our 6 weeks football camp.

All parents and carers will be asked to complete this year’s registration form.

We can’t wait to see you all.

The sports day was a success.

There were over 120 people and we would like to report that the girls won the girls v boys tug of war.
