Our Community Gardens Project

Alongside Urban Growth we have a new community project to redevelop our existing allotment and run volunteer & training sessions.

We will be teaching young people and their families to grow their own food and flowers. Our aim is to create a range of opportunities for the young people within the community to attend open-access, drop-in volunteer sessions on the weekends and more structured, educational sessions during the week, for local schools, community groups & specialist support agencies.

The picture above shows how the site was in autumn 2018. Since then, with the help from corporate volunteers, we have demolished many of the old structures which were unsound, & have built new raised beds, paths, a polytunnel and pond.

We are asking for your help to volunteer and support us in maintaing and developing the new site.

If you, your school or organisation would like to get involved please contact us at Sladeadventure@btinternet.com

This project is currently funded by the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund and the Trust for London, but we are seeking donors/sponsors to continue the project after the summer of 2019.

So far in the spring of 2019 we have had already hosted more than 700 hours of volunteering from corporate teams & local individuals.
